Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey Mac

1 in 8 Canadian women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer at some point in their lives, with 1 in 33 dying from it. This makes breast cancer the most common type of cancer in women.

The month of October was established around the world as Breast Cancer awareness month to bring attention and awareness to the disease. To continue bringing light to this issue, this week will be “Pink Week” at Mac in honour of all those who have overcome or continue to fight this disease.

Starting Tuesday, SAC encourages you all to come to school wearing PINK ! Come wearing all things pink-pink tops, pants, sweaters or whatever other pink attire you can find!

Share pictures of you repping your pink outfits on social media using the hashtags #macbreastcancerawareness and #dressforacause to be featured on instagram!

All of the proceeds that we receive this week will be donated to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada’s ‘Dress for the Cause’. Dress for the Cause has been running since 1998 to spread awareness and fundraise towards research for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Breast Cancer. If you or your family are interested in donating to the cause, join the WLMAC team by clicking the link below:
