Mackenzie Athletic Council is a group of individuals, athletes or not, who values our school's athletic community. As members of the council, our goal is to promote athletics and school spirit through a variety of activities such as: sports update (when covid settles), Terry Fox initiatives, Raffles, Health/Active campaigns, lunch time intramural (pre-covid) and Athletic Banquet (pre-covid). The Central Arts Council acts as a moderator for the other 4 subject councils (Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Drama). This council takes on a much more managerial role by scheduling subject council events and keeping track of each councils initiatives. The goal of the Central Arts Council is to promote the arts as a whole by acting as the bridge between all art forms!

Music Council is a group of students who represent the Mackenzie Music Department. We help with music performances and aid in our association with the central arts council. We hope to host virtual rehearsals of the standard music ensembles and produce virtual concerts and performances!

The purpose of the Visual Arts Council is to showcase the visual arts to the Mackenzie student body through displaying student created work at sanctioned events and more. The council this year has its hopes on creating and running future initiatives as well as, completing the mural that we started last winter. Members of the council always have a good time each week as work we on our initiatives while also interacting with each other. Council meetings are a safe and open space for everyone and anyone to socialize while getting creative. The Visual Arts council is always needing more creative people to join and help make Visual Arts more known at Mackenzie!

SAC is a collection of elected students who meet on a regular bases to organize and oversee school wide initiatives. We work closely with the staff and administration, as well as parent council in order to implement ideas that reflect the interest of the student population. It is the role of the student council to gauge these interests, and encourage school spirit. SAC a great way to develop leadership skills and valuable work habits, all while making a positive impact in your school environment and having fun!
