MACKENZIE COMPUTER PROGRAMMING TEAM
Mackenzie’s Computer Programming Team, otherwise known as MCPT, aims to provide an environment for anyone with an interest in computer science to engage with. Among other things, we provide regular lessons, help sessions, and resources paralleling the ICS curriculum by the Learning branch, and code debugging sessions and weekly contests by Competitive. Once a month, the Contests branch will also run the Lyon's Computing Competition (LCC), a 2.5 hour team-based programming event run in two divisions (Junior and Senior). Don't miss out!

DEBATE CLUB
Debate club is a place for you to improve your critical thinking skills, the ability to structure/build arguments, and facilitate learning on a variety of subjects. The debate circuit is also filled with wondrous and bright individuals you can meet. Given that there are several tournaments with people from all over Canada (even internationally - Team Britain made an appearance at Hart House), debate is an excellent learning opportunity for all! MOCK TRIALS COMPETITIVE TEAM
Our goal is to introduce students to the fundamentals of Canadian court trial procedures. In the second half of the school year, we are joined by a lawyer coach who can provide insight into trials and legal professions, and helps us prepare for a competitive mock trial around late April/early May. BIOLOGY CLUB
Biology club focuses on preparation for the U of T National Biology Contest and the Brain Bee contest! Each of our biweekly meetings focuses on a different topic covered in these contests. From genetics to neuroethics, we’ll explore these topics through interactive group activities, quizzes, debates and more! Many club members also participate in lectures hosted by the University of Toronto about neuroscience which will be held virtually this year! If you are looking for some extra support and one-on-one tutoring for any of your classes, the school's Virtual Peer Tutoring Program is here to help! Anyone can sign up to be paired with a student who has completed a course to meet one-on-one and go through homework problems, study for tests or go over class work.
